What is Peanuts?
Peanuts is the comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. It debuted in 1950 in seven newspapers, and its characters include Charlie Brown and Snoopy. New Peanuts content is produced by WildBrain under a partnership with Apple TV.
Who licenses Peanuts products?
The rights to the Peanuts brand are held and managed by Peanuts Worldwide LLC. On 2 March 2026 WildBrain said it had completed the sale of its 41% stake in the parent, Peanuts Holdings, to Sony, leaving Sony with 80% and the Schulz family with 20%. WildBrain CPLG stays on as exclusive consumer-products licensing agent in its existing territories across Europe, the Middle East, China and Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
What should buyers check?
Ask which company signed the licence, Peanuts Worldwide directly or a regional agent, and check that it covers your product category and destination markets. Say whether the artwork is classic comic-strip art or comes from newer animated content, and list every character in the design, such as Snoopy or Charlie Brown.
