What is Splatoon?
Splatoon is a Nintendo game series. The first game went on sale in Japan on 28 May 2015 for Wii U. Splatoon Raiders, a single-player-focused action-shooter spin-off, launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on 23 July 2026.
Who licenses Splatoon products?
Splatoon is Nintendo’s own series; the original game’s official page carries “© 2015 Nintendo”. Nintendo’s support site says licensed merchandise such as apparel, toys and bedding also displays the Official Nintendo Licensed Product seal, and that products without a seal are likely not licensed by Nintendo.
What should buyers check?
Say which game the artwork comes from and list everything the design shows: characters, weapons and in-game brand logos are all artwork that needs approval. Ask the supplier for the licensee’s name, the categories and countries covered, and where the licensed-product seal will appear on the item or packaging.
