What is One Piece?

One Piece is a manga by Eiichiro Oda. According to the official site, it began serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 34, released on 22 July 1997; the TV anime has aired on the Fuji TV network since 1999, and a live-action series streams exclusively on Netflix.

Who licenses One Piece products?

The official site’s credit line names Eiichiro Oda, Shueisha, Fuji TV and Toei Animation. Toei Animation licenses One Piece merchandising rights through its licensing business, and its results for April–December 2025 credit those sales, among others, for growth in overseas licensing. For a project, ask which licensor approved the product and for which artwork.

What should buyers check?

One Piece artwork can come from the manga, the TV anime, the films or the Netflix live-action series. Tell the supplier the artwork source, the characters and the product type, and ask for the licensee’s name and the approval for this exact product, not only a brand letter.
