Who is Mr Bean?
Mr Bean is a comedy character co-created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis. The live-action series premiered on ITV on 1 January 1990, feature films followed in 1997 and 2007, and in 2002 it was reimagined as an animated series, produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family with Atkinson voicing the character.
Who licenses Mr Bean products?
Banijay Kids & Family, part of Banijay Entertainment, represents the worldwide licensing and merchandising rights for Mr Bean. It works with regional agents, such as Bulldog in the UK and WP Brands in Australia and New Zealand, and its October 2026 update named renewed licensees including Toyeast for diecast vehicles, novelties and figurines in Asia and Kin Hsing Toy for plush in Taiwan.
What should buyers check?
Say whether the design uses the live-action series or the animated series artwork, and ask for an approval that covers that version. Because Banijay works with regional agents, ask the supplier for the licensee’s name, the agent involved and the territories the licence covers.
