What is Arcane?

Arcane is an animated series from Riot Games, based on its game League of Legends and created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee. Riot developed and produced it with the Paris animation studio Fortiche Production, and it premiered in November 2021 on Netflix worldwide and on Tencent Video in China.

Who licenses Arcane products?

Arcane comes from Riot Games, and Netflix is the streaming platform. The “Arcane Products & Partners” section of the official site arcane.com lists collaborations such as Uniqlo, Secretlab, Fenty Beauty, Funko Pop! and tokidoki, along with a link to Riot Merch. For a sourcing project, ask which company issued the licence for the product and which categories and countries it covers.

What should buyers check?

Because Arcane is based on League of Legends, state whether the artwork comes from the series or from the game, and check that the licence covers that source. Do not add the Netflix logo unless the approval includes it. For mainland China, where the series streamed on Tencent Video, confirm that the licence covers that market.
