What to include in a diaper bag sourcing brief
Use a model-specific brief to make sample discussions and supplier quotations easier to compare.
Start with one identifiable product
Send the product link, reference and selected design together. If a gallery shows several characters or carrying styles, identify the intended variation. “A bag like the photo” leaves the supplier to decide details that may matter to your customer.
Turn preferences into questions
Specify target dimensions, compartment needs, closure, carrying style and accessories. Where a detail is unknown, write “please confirm” instead of assuming it. Ask whether a quoted accessory is included, optional or only shown for photography. Separate a required feature from an example you are willing to change.
Use a quotation checklist
Provide quantity by variation, destination country, intended sales channel, packaging needs and desired delivery window. Ask the supplier to identify sample fees, product price, packing assumptions and shipping terms separately. Request the quote’s validity and a list of unresolved points. An attractive total is not comparable if one quote excludes packaging or refers to another variation.
Record the sample decision
Keep dated photographs and a written record of accepted details and requested changes. Before progressing, confirm that the next quote refers to that same sample version. A catalogue image is a starting point, not a substitute for a specification or sample review.
